Co-Founder – Ages Tecnologia Agrícola
Ages was launched as a spin-off from Angoera, created to deliver smart sensing solutions for precision agriculture. As co-founder and technical lead, I was responsible for the development and deployment of the company’s core technology—from hardware and embedded systems to data acquisition and field validation.
Our main innovation was a wireless flow sensor for monitoring the application of solid agricultural inputs, such as seeds and fertilizers. The device used non-contact sensing and wireless transmission to detect flow interruptions in real time, without requiring structural changes to agricultural equipment. Its compact design, robustness, and energy efficiency made it highly suitable for demanding field conditions.
The product was patented and exported, and I was personally responsible for its implementation in the United States, managing technical adaptation and field testing with local agricultural partners.
Eventually, the technology and intellectual property were acquired by a major company in the agricultural sector, recognising the value of the solution for improving operational efficiency and automation in the field.
This venture reflects my ability to co-found and lead a technology-based company, transforming engineering expertise into scalable, market-ready products.
Co-Founder – ConnectPet
ConnectPet was created as a spin-off from the collaboration between Angoera and Taqtile, combining expertise in embedded systems and user experience to develop a smart solution for monitoring pet health and behaviour. As co-founder and technical lead, I was responsible for structuring and leading the development team, overseeing the entire product lifecycle—from hardware and firmware to mobile integration and data analytics.
The core product was a smart pendant attached to the pet’s collar, capable of identifying and classifying behaviours such as resting, playing, scratching, and walking. These data were synchronised with a mobile app that delivered behavioural insights, veterinary reports, and customised notifications to pet owners.
Key features included:
Behaviour tracking when pets are home alone, out with walkers, or at daycare;
Monitoring of sleep quality, repetitive movements, and physical activity;
Veterinary-oriented reports highlighting patterns such as excessive scratching;
Personalised recommendations for food, medication, accessories, and services.
Beyond its consumer value, ConnectPet also offered data-driven tools for veterinary clinics and pet care companies, improving product and service targeting based on each animal’s profile and health history.
This venture reflects my ability to build and lead multidisciplinary tech teams, and to transform behavioural data into scalable digital health solutions.
Co-Founder – MOD (Foot-Controlled Effects Pedal)
I co-founded and led the development of an innovative programmable foot-operated effects pedal, created to combine the flexibility of digital audio software with the reliability and physical form factor required for live performance.
The product was built to solve a key challenge for musicians: traditional pedals are limited in scope, while software-based tools lack stage readiness. Our hybrid solution allowed users to create and load custom effects using open standards, offering freedom from proprietary platforms and enabling rich, real-time audio processing.
Highlights of the system included:
A stage-ready Human-Machine Interface (HMI);
An embedded CPU for real-time signal processing;
A configurable PC interface;
Full compatibility with open-source programming environments.
The project was patented (US20140090546A1) and reached a mature prototype stage. It was later acquired by the German company MOD Audio, which kept the original brand and integrated the technology into its commercial product line—bringing the concept to a global community of professional musicians and audio creators.
This experience reflects my capacity to co-found and lead a technology venture, develop scalable embedded solutions, and drive innovation from technical concept to international acquisition.
